Manitoba Whitetail Deer Hunts
Manitoba, Canada has become well known as a sleeper state for huge whitetail deer. We hunt GHA 19B which is one of the best areas in the Province for trophy whitetail deer hunting. Located east of Riding Mountain National Park in the Parkland Region, this area has vast amounts of agricultural farm fields that backup to forest creating the perfect type of edge habitat to grow monster whitetails. The fertile farm fields provide the deer with the feed and minerals they need to grow those heavy dark antlers. The forest gives them the cover to be able to hide out from predators and grow to their full potential. Combine this with excellent genetics and you have the perfect combination for growing huge whitetails.
We have found the best deer hunting method to kill a big whitetail is to spend as much time as possible on stand. During the Rut mature bucks will be on the move all day long looking for receptive Does. The more time a hunter can spend on stand the better the chance he or she will have to harvest a good buck. Our hunters typically spend at least 6 hours a day and preferably all day in their stands. Whitetail hunting is done out of elevated box blinds (heaters provided when needed). The stands are set on the edges of the fields where the does congregate or back in the bush on known crossings and travel routes between feeding and bedding areas. These locations are well scouted and stands are setup well in advance of your arrival.
Hunters fly into Winnipeg and rent a car. They then drive approximately 3 hours to Ste. Rose where you will be met by the outfitter and he will help you get settled into your accommodations. (WiFi & Cell Service Available) Typically Hunters will arrive on Sunday and after getting settled in they will take a couple of shots with their chosen weapon to ensure everything is sighted in properly.
